North felt his mind fogging, and his body going limp, but gentle hands caught him and lowered him safely to the ground. The next thing North knew, he woke up in a med com floating softly in its field. Morn sat by the bed. "You all right?" he asked.
"I think so," North answered. "Hurt a few places!"
"I'm not surprised!" Morn laughed. "They took the most of that shield element out of your back, not to mention, having to put your face back together! A nasty one, huh?"
"VERY!" admitted North.
"Is it out of your system?" Morn asked. "I know what vengeance can do to you. I know how it can tear your insides out. You feel any better?"
"It doesn't help the loss," admitted North, "but some of the pain is gone, and I know justice is done. Now I think I can sleep without those damned nightmares any more."
North was right. The nightmares that had plagued him for years never returned. He had fully laid a ghost to rest from many, many years passed.
