7 "We go!" Morn snapped. "I will not miss any
opportunity of negotiating a peace."
8 As North got to his feet, his vision blurred. Morn noticed the
discomfort. "Your eyes still bothering you?" he inquired.
9 "Just off and on," admitted North. "I just get hazy once and awhile."
10 "Well, considering how you were torn up," commented Morn, "it's
little wonder. As soon as we get bck, I want you to report for another
checkup. That's an order!"
11 North shrugged. "Yes, My Lord!" he said with a sarcastic grin. Morn
flashed one of his 'Don't get smart with me!' looks, as North headed
for the door.
12 As it swung open North almost ran into another Messenger who was
hurriedly entering. "Sir!" he said, "We just got a report! A large
flight of Imperial ships just entered system orbit. The outer sentries
challenged them, and they state they're Academy Staff reporting for duty!"
13 "WHAT?" cried North. He hurried to Communications and in a few
minutes couldn't believe what he saw....every single Academy training
vessel, plus, three other warships and four freighters fully loaded!
