The trap had been well laid! Morn had to think how to get this Priest out of North's mind. "No!" he thought, "No! Don't get him out, let him in,” but into the parts Morn wanted him to enter. Yes, into North's memories….certain memories!
With incredible precision Morn entered North's mind, and guided the one in it to where he wanted him to be, then quickly jumped clear. The Priest's eyes suddenly opened. He jumped to his feet, let out a horrid scream, then fell from the stands rolling on the ground, screaming, clawing at his body.
The Lord God and the rest of the party rose to their feet, in bewilderment. In the field ahead of them North suddenly had all his skill again. With sudden fury he launched into a vicious attack that drove his opponent back.
The observers' attention shifted back to the battle. Finally North got an opening. His knee flew up and caught his opponent soundly between the legs and he let out a low cry of pain, but still managed to ward off North's next strike. The momentum was now North's. He had slowed the man down; now, with a quick series of blows he forced him into the opening that he wanted.
The hilt of North's sword came in under the man's shield between his neck and his helmet. The young man's weapons fell from his hands and he collapsed to the ground. North threw down his shield, dropped his sword, then he, himself, sank to his knees, then, went face first into the ground.
North's Escorts rushed forward to help him, and The Lord God motioned his own man forward. Morn was kneeling by the Priest, his hands on the man's forehead with his fingers spread. The Priest was still crying. Morn got up. "Damn!" he snapped, "I can't break the connection! He's locked into North's mind, and I can't get him out!"
