8 The Lord God turned on The Voice. "Never
again," he screamed, "are you to enter my land. Never again are you to
corrupt my servants with your lies."
9 "We had an agreement," argued The Voice, "that we could come and go
as we please among each other's people and teach."
10 "These are NOT people," argued The Lord God. "I made them from the
dust of the ground, from the dust of this world. They are MINE! They
belong to ME! They are my creation! They will obey my will! These are
not my people, but my servants, little more than machines."
11 "When you make life," argued The Voice, "that has intelligence of
its own, when you modify the creatures of this world to serve you, it
makes them no less people. You cannot treat them like cattle, they are
living, reasoning beings, with the free will to choose what Path they
will follow. To try to keep them ignorant of The Truth is criminal."
12 "Your Truth," answered The Lord God, "is not my truth, your Wisdom
is not my wisdom! I alter that that I have said before, for the good of
my people. From now on you keep to your land. I will keep to mine.
There will be peace between our peoples, but I will not allow you to
interfere in my private business again. Begone! Take them that now
follow you with you. I have no further need for them."
13 Now, Adam and Eve's two sons, Cain and Abel came forward and fell on
their knees before The Lord God. "Oh, glorious one," they cried, "Maker
Of All Things, do not make us bear the shame of our parents, for we are
innocent and did not do those things that they did. Be merciful, Lord,
and let us remain with our people in your service. For we believe in
you, and will serve you to the end of our days."
14 "Very well," agreed The Lord God, "Let those who are loyal to me
