thing I am, and I'm no closer to it than they are!"
A sudden thought hit her, and she snapped the light back on. "How did you get through the fence?"  she snapped. "I've been around that five-hundred times, looking for any possible entry points. How did you get in?"
"There's a culvert," the girl explained, "by the back of the building. I took off my clothes, threw them over the fence, and swam ....crawled, really, through. There's a hatch cover just inside the fence. I timed the Guards for hours, so I'd know how long I had to get through."
Mountain Glory turned out the light. "Nobody will again!" she remarked.
In the morning, as soon as Gray Boar was in his bathroom, Mountain Glory slipped the girl on to the Guard post. "Take her over to the barracks," she ordered, "find out where she's been staying and get her some fresh things. Let her get cleaned up. I'll take her to the train tomorrow. And HANDS OFF!" she snapped.
The men laughed. As Mountain Glory walked off the woman shouted "Good luck, honey! I hope you get him!”
Mountain Glory smiled back over her shoulder. "Maybe," she said, "Someday. Maybe if I put myself in a vacuum tube or wrap myself in copper wire. Then maybe he'd notice."
By the time Gray Boar came down, she had fixed a quick breakfast and the maid was just coming in the door. As Gray Boar ate his toast and eggs, he looked up. "Glory child?" he asked.
Mountain Glory snapped out of her daydream. "What?" she inquired.
"The girl you caught in my room last night. What was she, a thief, or one of those poor things wanting a Glory Child?"
