the identification he smiled. "I GUESS you're
qualified, ma'am!" he laughed.
102 Now, Mountain Glory didn't feel quite so undressed! Many a man's
head turned as she made her way to the car. When she drove up to the
gate, the Guard didn't open it. "Come on, Leaping Goat!" she snapped.
"I've got to get in and fix supper!"
103 The Guard stared at her in disbelief. "Good Lords!" he stuttered,
"Is that YOU ma'am?"
104 "Don't look at the clothes," snapped Mountain Glory, "look at the
face! Open up!"
105 The man did so, and as soon as she pulled through was on the phone.
By the time she parked the car half a dozen men were standing leisurely
around the yard. "Don't just stand there pretending you're not
looking!" cried Mountain Glory, "Come give me a hand with these
packages, then you can get a closer look."
106 Laughing and complimenting her on how nice she looked, the men came
over. "You'll get used to it after a while," announced Mountain Glory.
"Except for official occasions I intend to dress like this most of the
time."
107 "You're sure going to brighten THIS place!" commented one of the
men. "Of course we don't have to ask who all this is for! We hope it
works!"
108 Mountain Glory fixed an extraordinary supper- all of Gray Boar's
favorite dishes, and she sat up in the dining room, not the kitchen,
then walked over to the laboratory. When she came through the door
every Assistant stopped working and held his breath. Even the women let
out a low "Oh, my Lord!" When Gray Boar and Swift Dog turned around,
they, too, were impressed!
109 "Supper is ready!" announced Mountain Glory. "I'd like for you to
come in and eat now."
110 Gray Boar swallowed. "I'll be in in a few minutes," he argued.
