suggesting don't sound like they would be. They
say death or life in Punishment is far too cruel for those dealing in
drugs. They want a maximum of ten years, if they don't confess, and
five years if they confess. They also want to stop the
seizure of a criminal's property. Only those funds should be attached
that can be proven were gained by unlawful means."
31 "And listen to THIS one," sighed Gray Boar. "They want to make it
illegal to seize a person's property for debt. 'If a person falls on
hard times,' they say, 'and can't pay his bills, he should be able to
at least keep his home, and a few treasured possessions. It should be
up to a Speaker to decide what his creditors can and can't take.' They
don't want to CHANGE The Law, they want to DESTROY it! They even want
to end castration in a case of rape! They say men that commit such
crimes should be sent to hospitals for the mentally ill, not cruelly
maimed and put in Punishment.
32 I think I WILL attend this meeting. But first of all, I want to call
some of these people that supposedly support them. I know some of these
men. This doesn't sound like something they'd support. And if Speakers
are supporting it, as they claim, they're breaking their Speaker's
Oath."
33 The next day Gray Boar spent most of his time on the phone.
Afterwards he spoke to Mountain Glory. "Just as I suspected," he
announced. "Many of the people that they claim support them, don't.
They've spoken with them, and told them that they understand their
feelings, but don't know if they can support such a movement. Only
about five of the Speakers they claim support them, do. The rest only
said that they too feel some of The Laws are too harsh. These people are
not what they claim to be!"
