Law of Laws has found that this is the BEST way,
because in this way are the possibilities of change infinite.
17 If we made children in any other way, they would probably only be
copies of ourselves. There would be no change.
18 We are different from our father's fathers, and our father's fathers
before them. Each generation we grow a tiny bit in Wisdom and Strength.
This is The Wisdom of The Great Law. It always chooses The Path of
Greatest Possibility.
19 When something goes wrong, when an animal ceases to change, it dies.
You have seen the great bones that the Diggers have found. No creature
like them lives today. Our world changed. It is different than what it
was. Those creatures that changed with it, survived. Those that did
not, died. Only the fittest and the wisest live."
20 "That scares me," sighed a little girl. "I'm not the fittest, and
I'm not the wisest."
21 Brown Goat touched her head. "But I am," he comforted, "and so are
your parents. There will come a man that will be strong and wise. He will add to your strength,
and you will add to his. Together you will be stronger than any
adversity. Do you see now, my dear ones, what I have been trying to
teach you?"
22 "I think so," answered one of the boys. "The difference between male
and female is so we change, grow, with the passings of seasons: not the
people, but the entire race. And also, so that we complement each
other, so that when we join together, the two separate parts become a
greater whole."
23 "You are learning, indeed!" praised Brown Goat.
24 "But I have one question," the young man continued. "Why are there
so many more women than men?"
