62 So it was, a few days later, a caravan moved
south, crossed the desert, avoided the enemy, and came down to Fr,
where Bay Blossom Hawk had made her headquarters in a large estate
outside a village.
63 The first day was spent in getting acquainted. Bay Blossom Hawk
didn't seem to resent Thundering Dove being put in charge at all. As a
matter of fact, she insisted he be quartered in the house where she was
staying, and at the banquet that evening she was more than friendly.
64 When Thundering Dove announced he was tired, she, too, left the
banquet and escorted him to the house. It was a Frn mansion; gaudy, but

65 Bay Blossom showed Thundering Dove his room. "Mine is right next
door," she announced, "as a matter of fact, there is a door between
them, so if you wish to speak with me, you do not have to enter the
hall. Let us get out of this battle gear. I do not know about you, but
I could stand a wash. You'll find a basin and water in the room.
66 After we have changed, would you mind if I come in for a bit of
conversation and one more drink? I have some sweet wine that is really
enjoyable."
67 "I would be pleased," Thundering Dove agreed. He entered his room,
washed, donned a sleeping gown and a robe. Barely had he finished, than
there came a knock on the adjoining door. "You may come in,” he
announced.
68 When Bay Blossom entered, he was taken back. She wore only a
sleeping gown that in no way concealed her womanhood. Her battle armor
hid her exceptional beauty. Dressed like this, it was hard for him to
consider she was one of the greatest fighters among his people.
69 She sat down the tray, filled two goblets, and offered one to
Thundering Dove. "To a successful campaign,"
