29 Thundering Dove was very weak. They had to carry him back to the
village. The Healer cleaned out his mouth and sewed his tongue back
together. "You're a very lucky young man!" the Healer told him. "It's
been sliced almost perfectly in half! If it had been cut through or a
little deeper, then you would have probably lost it.
30 You're going to be in alot of pain for a while, but I think it will
heal quite nicely. It may affect your speech a little, but I don't think
too much. It's going to be several days before you're strong enough to
do any real fighting.
31 I know this is a hard thing to tell a Warlock, but for the next
couple of days, take it easy. And no hard food....no chewing. You're
going to have an awful time just swallowing! Soup and broth until that
swelling goes down!"
32 So for the next few days Thundering Dove took it easy, worked on his
plan, and tried to soothe Bay Blossom's temper. It was not easy, but in
the end both projects came along well.
33 Finally, when his strength was better, he called his Warlocks
together and told them his plan. "The enemy's forces," he explained,
''are great, but they aren't limitless. Their defenses do not go far
east, or, west. At Ftr we have hundreds of boats. I am going to take
one-third of our forces, slip down the river, get behind them, then
while the rest of you draw their attention, we'll come up from behind,
take their camp, and their supplies, and hit the center of their line.
I figure they cannot withstand an attack front and, rear."
