of these ships look strange to you?"
85 The aide climbed up on the rigging and looked about. Suddenly he
cried out, "Good Lords! They're the enemy! They're all around us; in
amongst us!
We're right in the middle of one of their fleets!"
86 Bay Blossom ran to the signalman. "Hoist flags!" she cried, "Enemy
ships among us! Take them!"
87 For the next few hours all was total confusion. At first the enemy
couldn't understand why some of their ships were turning on them, and
readying for battle. But it didn't take them long to realize the
reason.
88 Nobody fought too well after being sick for days, but The Children
of Spirit recovered quicker than the enemy. Ship after ship fell to
their assaults. Finally what was left of the enemy turned and began to
flee south. But Bay Blossom's men-of-war were right on their rudders!
The harbor
markers of Se and Mn appeared. But the pursuit continued. The two
fleets sailed right into the harbor and the battle continued there.
89 Finally, the docks themselves, became a battleground, and even the
beaches. But when it was over somehow Bay Blossom's people had managed
to
win the day. They had captured every enemy ship. All the cargoes were
intact, and most of the captain's papers were in their hands! The
quality of their prize was soon apparent. This was the first of two
fleets making for these very harbors with new guns, the enemy's first
cannon and replacements. The second fleet even larger than this one,
lay at anchor now, in the bay at Wisdom, and would sail within five days.
90 "I think," announced Bay Blossom, "our plan of attack has suddenly
changed! We have a great prize at our fingertips! Send these ships home
with the prisoners and these supplies. They'll do US much more good
than the enemy. If the wind is with us, we should be able to reach
Wisdom before this fleet
puts to the water. If we can destroy it in the harbor,
