some of them suggested, "to bring over some of
our women. It would be safe enough for them to garrison Truth."
88 "I will consider that," agreed Thundering Dove. He boarded a ship
and got underway. He was happy for the whole crossing, thinking of
seeing Bay Blossom and Little Blossom again. He was beginning to have
thoughts about Little Blossom that he would have to discuss with Bay
Blossom.
89 As he entered the harbor and the pilot came on board he saw him
whispering to the ship's Captain. Then they both stared at Thundering
Dove sorrowfully. "What's going on?" he wondered. As they neared the docks
he saw Little Blossom waiting, her arm in a sling. As he walked off the
boat she approached him.
90 "Your Spirits," she snapped, "have been very cruel to you. You must
come home at once. Your woman needs you."
91 "What happened?" asked Thundering Dove as they walked. "Is Bay
Blossom all right?"
92 "Her body is alright," answered Little Blossom, "it's her MIND we're
trying to save."
93 "What of the child?" Thundering Dove asked.
94 "I cannot speak of it," answered Bay Blossom, "you will learn soon
enough."
95 He entered the house, went directly to their room, and found Bay
Blossom in the bed. The minute she saw him she threw out her arms, and
he went to her. She cried for several minutes before she spoke. "They
took my baby," she whispered, "they took it away! They said it's sick,
and the Healer has to watch it. I want my baby!" she cried, "I want my
baby! They want me to let them return it to The Lords. They say it
can't live, but I want it. I want our little boy. If he can live at
all, if he can have
