Chapter Eight
Brown Goat had had a difficult time convincing Mu to accept the terms
of the treaty, but when he promised that they would give them the land
at the junction of the roads from Nso and Mk as a site for a new city,
they agreed. They called this city Bargain, because the bargain for it
had ended the war.
2 The Sians were not happy, either, at the loss of their territories,
but Fr and Kr gave them land to build a new city half way down the road
from Fo to Se. This city they called Misery, because in it lived the
few survivors of a once great people.
3 Neither were the golden-skinned people happy at their loss, but when
The Frns offered them a tract of land in the center of their great
forest, they took it and built there a great city they called Wood,
for by clearing the land, and selling the wood they made their living.
4 A few of them, also, returned to The Land of Their Fathers, and
settled in the cities round about their former homelands. There, east
of Fin, they built a new city called Thunder, in remembrance of him who had
insisted on their freedom. The people of those Lands increased their
defenses and built up strong armies, so that The One would never easily
come against them again.
5 With the ransom from the cities of The Oneness Brown Goat decided to
build a new city in The Holy Land. Below and to the east of Southern
great springs were found in the forest, enough water to irrigate a good
tract of land. So here they built a city and called it Bay Blossom, in
honor of she who had given so much for her people. But over the years
the city simply became known as Blossom.
