The mother of the two boys still lives and takes fine care of the family. The girl has had many suitors, but she seems to have a dislike for men, and has turned them all away. She is deeply respected, though, by all the women in the neighborhood, as is her whole family."
"How," gasped The Dove, "did you find out all that so quickly?"
Swift Deer laughed. "There is," he answered, "an old woman that lives a way down the street. Her mouth runs like a river, but alot of useful information comes out. When she saw me watching the young woman, she could not wait to tell me everything about her! She says though, I would be wasting my time. She doesn't like my kind."
"I can understand why!" laughed The Dove.
Swift Deer leapt to his feet. "And what's the matter," he growled, "with MY kind?"
"Nothing at all," answered The Dove, "as long as you do not have a young daughter to worry about!"
Swift Deer reached out in a mock attack, but The Dove was gone before he could even touch him! "You'll have to be quicker than that!" The Dove laughed.
Swift Deer lunged again, and this time, found his mark. Seizing The Dove, he tried to pin him down but The Dove was gone in a flash, rolled behind him, and pinned HIM! "You'll never learn that move, will you?" The Dove laughed.
"There's some things I can't teach you," Swift Deer answered, "and that's one thing you can't teach me! No matter how many times you show me, I can't figure out how you do that! No wonder you were champion wrestler of your district!" Both men laughed.
"I think," said The Dove, "we had better get to our beds! There is alot to do tomorrow!"

The Dove pointing out his lady of choice to Swift Deer on the balcony.
