Now, The Dove was led by the young man back to the fog, and found himself awakening in his own bed. Yellow Blossom was sitting beside him, praying. "Woman," he pleaded, "don't just sit there! Get me some beef broth and honey water and bread! I am famished!"
"You're awake!" cried Yellow Blossom. She bent down, kissed him, and ran for the Healer.
"I must speak with my Councilmen," requested The Dove, "after I have eaten. I have much to tell them."
"All right," agreed the Healer, "but there is to be no discussion whatsoever. You will tell them what you want to say quickly, and then I want you to rest."
"I have been put in your charge," answered The Dove, "I will do as you say."
So the Councilmen entered and listened. The Dove told them all that he had dreamed. They spoke amongst themselves and agreed, as The Lords had commanded, that they would do.
The Dove's children were brought in. He gave to his son his battle sword, and the symbol of his Warlockship.
He gave to his daughter The Speaker's Seal, that had to go on all engineering projects before they were approved.
He kept only The Shadow's Staff, the Symbol of his Speakership, and the two children began to make the yearly inspections.
His son handled all military questions, while his daughter handled all the engineering requests, and the lesser cases of judgments, while The Dove, himself, handled the more important cases.
And never was there a complaint from any party. The three were as one When one spoke, it was The Dove speaking on behalf of The Lords, and this the people never questioned.
