Swift Goat waited at the wall watching the gate. Suddenly his people rushed out of the darkness, overpowered the guards, and began to undo the bolts.
"Now!" screamed Swift Goat. "Now! Drive them home!" With thundering blows his men obeyed, while all havoc broke loose in the barracks. But by the time any of the enemy reached the doors it was too late. They were securely sealed in!
Swift Goat and his men stood back roaring with laughter as the rest of the fighting people entered the fortress.
Bold Dove could not believe his eyes. "Whoever heard," he cried, "of a battle being won by three stout timbers and six sturdy spikes?"
The enemy, trapped in the barracks, were not so amused, especially when they had to throw out their weapons and one by one, surrender.
"You do not fight fair!" said the Trn Commander. "You use magic! You have your men fly over our walls. You imprison us in our own barracks. What manner of men are you?"
The Children of Spirit poured out of The Valley of Shadows. They quickly headed south and besieged Ti. They came on the city so swiftly that it had no time to gather in its villages.
Nameless Fox and his dog riders slipped around the enemy and attacked the fortress on The Tr Road from the rear where the enemy had neglected to build a wall.
With The Tr Road open, The Children of Spirit were attacking in two directions. They besieged Mi and The Trns were desperate.
Red Boar took Ti by damming the river on one side, and sending his fighting people in under the wall. Not knowing how he did this, the legend that The Children of Spirit could fly, began to grow among The Trns. The leader of many a city's defenses slept very poorly every night!
