44 The man rose and backed off, bowing. "I don't think," continued the
fighting person, "you could convince him you're not a Blessed One if
you tried for years! "
45 The next day Gray Goat and his servants returned again. This time
there was a second Warlock with the prisoners. This one was the
Commander of their camp. "I do not know who you are," he announced,
"but this foolishness will stop.
46 We are responsible for these prisoners. They are fed well enough to
do their work. If you continue in this interference, I will bring
charges with The District Speaker, and have The Guardian seize you."
47 "As I have told the other Warlock," Gray Goat answered, "if I break
some Law, tell me of it. To feed these men is not illegal. it, in no
way, interferes with your command. But as you are here, I will have
some words with you.
48 Some of the people in the village neighboring your camp have brought
me some interesting information. They, too, have been upset by some of
the things they have seen going on; young men being taken out in the
early night and returned near morning, some of them weeping, shipments
of food so rotten they are dumped the very day they are delivered. A
camp so filthy it is not fit for pigs.
49 It is your responsibility that all goods delivered to your camp
are in first class condition, and that the camp is kept in a clean and
orderly condition. Yes, The District Speaker will hear of some things!
If I were you, I would keep these men in the camp the next couple of
days, and see that it is cleaned up.
50 And from now on, no men shall be taken out of the camp at night. For
if they are, they will be followed,
