151 The Hawk received official recognition that he would be defending
the case. A list of six Warlocks and High Damons were sent to him. The
High Council had chosen well! There wasn't an enemy of Gray Boar or, a
friend among them.
152 The Hawk approved the list and returned it, then spent many hours
with his Law Books. Finally, several days before the trial was
scheduled, he sat the Books aside. "Mountain Glory," he cried, "let's
get our dogs and go for a ride! I am ready. Now I must clear my mind so
I will speak with wisdom and authority!"
153 "Is there ever a time," asked his mate, "that you do not?"

155 "You could have fooled me!" argued Mountain Glory. "Let's get those
wonderful animals and fly like the wind!" She had taken to riding like
one possessed. Whenever The Hawk got her on the dogs, she never wanted
to get off, and the animals took to her just as well.

157 For the next few days he relaxed all he could, avoided business.
When the day of the trial came, he walked to The Temple briskly. There
