"Right here; 'Now, if one lays dying who has long
been a Servant of The Lords, but has not taken The Bread and The Wine,
and says 'I desire to partake of Them,' but before they can do so The
Messenger of Death comes for them, a relative of close blood may, in
their place, take The Bread and The Wine, so that they may be declared
one before The Lords, and their names may be written in The Book of The
Beloved.'"
85 "May I see that?" asked The Hawk. Again, The Hawk took the Scroll
and examined the passage "You misread this," he announced. "It does not
say 'If one lays dying,' it says 'If a YOUTH lays dying who has long
worshiped The Lords.' This is meant not for the sanctifying of
Ancestors, but the sanctifying of a child who is a worshiper of The
Lords, but is not yet old enough to take The Bread and The Wine. It is
not the same as a grandfather or a grandmother who were devout
worshipers of The One, or, of Tr, or of Fr, or, of Mu. To enter such
people's names in The Book of The Beloved is a sacrilege both to The
Lords, and, to them. We cannot know their will, or, their desires.
86 To put our own wishes in their minds is like breaking a will and
denying the wishes of a departed Loved One, and you know The Law
forbids us to do that unless a Loved One in the last days of their
life, has lost all their reason and made a will of no sense."
87 The City Speaker nodded. "Again, I agree," he announced. "I must
deal with this complaint, and I can only order that these practices be
ceased, and, that they never be begun again. And also, all money you
have collected through these practices must be returned. These are
certainly not The Lords Teachings. It is not a faith that can be spoken
in Their House!"
88 "I disagree!" argued Shining Boar. "My teachings are sound. You just
do not accept my interpretation. I demand my right to be heard before
The First Speaker!"
