shore, they turned their bows to the south and
made good time. Though they encountered some strong winds, there were
no real storms, and they came to the waters of Ti on a dark night when
the clouds covered the stars and hid their presence.
53 As the first light came, ships sailed into every entrance of the
harbor. At first the enemy ashore waved to them, but as more and more
ships came in, and did not anchor but made straight for the shore, on
the docks the alarm was raised....but it was too late.
54 The Children of Spirit and The Zoans were already on the docks and
fighting their way into the city. The defenders tried to
rally but they simply had no hope. By high sun the city was theirs.
55 Terrified captives were herded into makeshift prisons, their
captured weapons went to those that hadn't any. The Hawk wasted no
time, took his people down the road and quickly built defenses. They
would not have to worry about supplies. They had captured enough to
take care of themselves and, their captives for many months. Now, they
could only wait. The NEXT move was up to the enemy.
56 It was only three days before he made his presence known. A vast
army
four times their number, appeared on the road. To The Hawk's surprise,
they were not disorganized, but marched in smart, neat ranks, and
showed
every sign of being a disciplined army.
57 "It looks like," commented The Hawk, "they learned a few things from
our last encounter. Let's hope we can teach them a few more!"
