21 "And with these numbers," asked The Priest,
"can you destroy The Children of Spirit?"
22 "We would outnumber them a little better than two to
one," the temple guard announced. "We could destroy
them easily."
23 "Then tomorrow morning," commanded The High Priest,
"do it. While they sleep in their tents, attack the
encampment. Destroy them. Kill every man. The women and children
are yours to do with as you will. Kill them, sell them out of the
city as slaves, but get rid of them! No....kill them all, even
the women and children. Be satisfied with their goods. I want
none of these lice to live. They must all perish."
24 "As you bid, High Priest," responded the temple
guard, "that I will do."
25 "The King will be angry at first," continued The
High Priest, "but when the rain comes, his anger will pass,
and he will praise those who fought for his god this day. When we
are done in this city, we will march on their camps in the other
cities until there is nothing left of this filth, nothing left of
this abomination!"
26 Many of the elders and young priests looked at each other with
concern. In the morning many of them would not be in the temple.
They would be as far away from The High Priest as they could get.
