17 "Do not listen to him!" cried the Temple
Priests, "What he says is heresy! If you do not make the sacrifices you
are doomed. You will not enter Paradise. The One will not raise your
flesh at the time of The Awakening unless you have given Him your
proper respect."
18 "Fool!" cried The Teacher, "You do not worry about their souls, you
worry only about the bread on your table, and the glory of your
position. You do not seek wisdom, you only live in greed."
19 "Leave this temple!" cried The Priest. "You will say no more unholy
things in it. You are evil. You are not of this house. I reject you!"
20 "If it is your wish," answered The Teacher, "but all of these people
should leave with me, for if you put me out of my house, the roof shall
fall
down on you!"
21 "Fool!" cried The Priest, "this temple has stood for one-hundred
seasons! By YOUR word it will not fall! Get out! You are NOT wanted
here! "
22 The Teacher rose, tapped his staff upon the floor, and walked from
the temple. In fear, the people rose and followed him. Barely had the
last one stepped from the temple's door, than there was a great
cracking sound, and a rumble, and the roof came down!
23 The people dug in the rubble for many days, but the body of The
Priest was not to be found. They abandoned that place, left the pile of
stones as a reminder. Any who passed whispered to themselves, "Never
put God out of His own house!"
24 The Teacher journeyed on. As he neared the gates of Lof, an angry
crowd came out of the city dragging a woman. They tied her to the
stoning
posts. When she saw The Young Teacher she cried out,
