my Blood. "
8 But the others still wailed. "Say, Lord," they prayed, "that there is
some other way!"
9 But The Teacher only looked to The Student and said, "You have
learned well. This is why I have given you no city. You shall travel
throughout the world day after day , spreading my good news, that your
sins have been forgiven and The Way to The Most High is open to you.
The Day is almost
at hand, for The Sacrifice of Transgression. I will be that Sacrifice.
In the greatest of My Father's Houses there shall my honor be
fulfilled."
10 So they came to the capitol, and when The Temple Priest heard his
intent, he refused. "A criminal would I sacrifice, a murderer or a
murderess, but you are innocent, you have done nothing ...your blood
will not be on my hands. I forbid the temple being used for this
purpose."
11 So The Teacher turned his back on the temple and walked from the
city, to a small temple in a nearby village. But as he topped a hill he
looked back on the great city which his people loved.
12 "Oh, marvelous place! " he cried, "you had the opportunity to be the
Holder of Glory. In your last days were you to be more glorious than
any city in the world. But now I weep for you, for in the hours to
come, not one of your stones shall lay on another. Evil shall come upon
you, and you will be no more. In a far away place shall your daughters weep
for your sons, and upon your ramparts shall your King be no more.
13 Until the day cometh that the fire from the heavens shall bring down
your destroyers, you shall live in shame and pestilence, despised by
all that is good."
