39 They began to speak as they never spoke
before. They had power and authority. Their words were filled with
wisdom and strength. The next day they departed to their chosen places.
40 At first the old temple and its Priests fought the new faith,
denying all that had occurred. But then, seeing that by doing this they
were losing the people, they changed their tactics. They embraced the
New Religion, but began to add their own teachings, and many of the people liked this, for they were
used to the old way, and The Priests also added other ideas.
41 They added The Epons' Teachings of The Master Race to The Teacher's
Words, as if he had said them himself. And they began to say that he
encouraged the idea that by the sword the New Faith should be spread to
all the world.
42 Now, the true believers in The Teacher of The One fought these
ideas. They exposed The Priests and told the people they were lying.
But The Priests convinced the people that they were merely jealous
because they understood The Lord's Teaching better than his own
original followers.
43 A great division began to rise among The One. The faction that
believed The priests gathered in the cities of Tir and Tf, while the
faction that believed the followers of The Teacher gathered in Lof and
Lot.
44 Soon both were raising armies. The followers of The Priests went to
Mr and Fr and hired mercenaries, while the people in the other cities
depended on their own strength.
45 Ahead of the great army The Priests marched north. At the dividing
of the roads The King, loyal to The Teacher, met them in battle, and
was defeated. But his army was not destroyed,
