desert below his land; two below Tr, and three
below The Holy Land. When The Oneness came to them, they were stopped.
They fought viciously all season, but could not break through.
15 Finally, they withdrew. For twenty-two seasons every year The
Oneness returned, but every year they were repelled. Neither were The
Children of Spirit strong enough to attack them.
16 The Oneness refused to ransom prisoners or, to exchange them. And
over the years The Children of Spirit forgot The Lords Teachings on the
just treatment of captives, especially when their own people, who had
escaped captivity in the enemy's hands, told how bitterly they had been
treated.
17 The Lords grew angry at Their People's carelessness. One season the
enemy broke through at Tr and took Lo, but were held there. One time,
also, they broke through into The Holy Land, and raided far north
before they were driven out.
18 The cost of the war weighed heavily on the people, and they couldn't
understand why The Lords did not answer their prayers.
