7 "Little whore!" the first mate would cry, and walk off.
8 For many years things continued in this manner. Then, one day Red Cat
announced that he was going to launch a new campaign against The
Oneness.
9 Several years before The Oneness had started raiding again....at
first just border disputes, a village here and there. Then they
launched a major attack in Mu, but were beaten back. Then, they
attacked The Krns, seized a few villages, but again were held back.
Then, they tried in the lands below Zo. But these people, too, were in no mood for their conquests.
They were beaten back. So then they started attacking the fortress
below Tr and The Holy Land.
10 Season after season they returned. But The Children of Spirit
learned how to put little grooves in the barrels of their guns that
made
the bullets spin as they flew. This made their bullets go much further
and with much more accuracy. The Oneness did not learn this secret for
many years, and it helped keep them at bay.
11 Now, the Witches of Spirit had improved the rifles, as guns were now
called. Instead of a wick to light the powder, on the side of each
rifle was a little hammer that held a piece of flint. The flint struck
a metal plate, making sparks that set off the powder. It was a vast
improvement over the old wicks that would go out, or get wet.
12 Thousands of these new rifles had been made, and with them Red Cat
intended to march on Faith. "We will blast down their walls!" he cried,
