your family, then you. Haven't you once, just once, in your life ever said 'To The Darkness with it all! ' and just done something you wanted to do
without considering the consequences?"
39 "I don't think so," answered Shy Fox, "I've never wanted to."
40 "Sometimes," laughed Red Cat, as they opened the gate to Shy Fox's house, "I think you're what The Oneness call a Saint, a perfect man, one who never makes any mistakes."
41 "I'm never that," argued Shy Fox, "because I've made some BAD mistakes."
42 "Nobody ever told me about them," Red Cat continued.
43 They got Thorn Blossom and went back to the house. They grabbed a Warlock of the Guard as another witness. The first mate didn't want to open her door, so Red Cat kicked it in. The fury of their discussion was not recordable. All who waited in the hall heard words that were not decent to speak. But when they heard a sudden slap and thud, they rushed to the door.
44 "There is no more to be said!" screamed Red Cat as his mate lay sprawled on the floor. "You're banished from this house! Quarters will be arranged for you. For the rest of your days I'll pay you an allowance, but never, ever, approach me again. The things you have said are beyond forgiveness. The shame you have done is unforgivable."
45 "It's just that little whore's word against mine!" screamed the first mate. "Why do you believe her and not me? It was her who came to me, that offered me her body. She became enraged when I refused her, and made up this story to hurt me."
