The kidnappings quickly stopped.
31 The terrorists kept their activities confined to destroying
property, but when The Children of Spirit simply ignored their efforts,
they finally gave up. The movement died, and The Land of Spirit
returned to peace.
32 Thundering Boar continued to be a good First Speaker though after
these incidences he tended to stay away from the public. The Oneness
called him the murderer of the unborn, and many of his own people
questioned the decency of those actions that he had taken.
33 '"Being First Speaker," he told his brother, "is not as pleasant as
most people think. Sometimes you have to do things that are almost
beyond your bearing. I pity those who come after me. For I have dreamed
Dreams, and seen that which is to come. I understand The Old Prophecies
Our Fathers told.
34 'There is a Oneness in the sky worse than that we know here, and
someday they will put us in chains. It is only by our courage that our
people shall be saved. For those who surrender shall die, but those who
resist shall not perish.
35 For five-hundred seasons shall we be in chains, until The Son of
Dawn comes, born of the finest of our blossoms, and the Lord of their
people. He shall break the chains and make us free.
36 And there shall be one with him of his father's blood, that shall
be like his shadow. He shall be a man that seems to have no heart, that
is the thunder and the lightning, who destroys all who oppose him. But
before these things, there shall be a falling away. Our people shall
turn their backs on The Lords, fall into evil and misery.
37 For many generations they shall be lax, until a child shall speak
with The Glory of The Lords, and hold Their Power in his hand.
