Chapter Seven

As the summer closed the desert behind them, The Children of Spirit were not afraid. They had the means of fighting the enemy. Within weeks both cities were back in their hands, and poor little Misery with seven out of ten of its people dead, was finally free.
2 The gliders dropping Yellow Thunder had again and again kept the enemy from their artillery while The Children of Spirit charged into position and opened fire.
3 Many times an enemy War Leader shook his fist as the terror in the sky sailed away. But the fighting was far from over.
4 Bold Fox made his headquarters in Fr. He wanted to carry the battle to the enemy, but on land he just did not have the strength. And on water the enemy ruled the waves. But that might not be for long!
5 They had enough heavy guns to equip several ships. If they could capture some of the enemy, maybe they could build their fleet back up.
6 "Maybe the Harbor master," remarked one of his men, "should give Little Turtle his cannon that he confiscated! Maybe that crazy steam powered iron
ship of his will float after all, and if it does, it would sure be a surprise to the enemy!"
7 "Little Turtle?" stammered Bold Fox, "Iron ships? What are you talking about?"
8 The Warlock laughed. "Little Turtle," he explained, "is a local character, a rather famous shipbuilder. But lately he's been going a little wacky.
9 First, he started putting steam engines on boats, and pushing them with paddle wheels. The crazy things actually go!
