their own raid against Faith and Hope from the
air.
10 Leaping Deer was leading a party through the wilderness at that very
moment, with forty gliders and a good supply of Yellow Thunder. Under
cover of the fall rains they hoped to get within striking distance of
the enemy's cities. It sounded like a good plan.
11 There was some bad news, though...someone had broken into Leaping
Toad's factory and stolen the plans for building gliders, and the
instruction manual for flight training.
12 A few weeks later Grey Toad was found dead in his laboratory,
strangled, and the formula for Yellow Thunder missing. Fortunately,
Little Dog knew the formula and production of Yellow Thunder would not
be interfered with. It was obvious the enemy had a skilled and deadly
agent operating in The Holy Land.
13 A young female worker had disappeared from the factory after the
theft of the plans, and a pretty young new assistant Grey Toad had
hired ALSO disappeared after HIS death. It was unusual for the enemy to
use women for anything, but apparently they were using one as an agent,
and she was very good.
14 Bold Fox decided to keep the enemy busy. If he drew troops down from
the north it might give Leaping Deer a better chance, so though the
lake was rough, they raided Justice. The enemy fleet had made no
attempts against them for some time, but this time, they came back.
Some of their ships carried their first sixty pound cannon and with
these they hoped to stop the iron clads.
15 For almost a day the two fleets hammered at each other, the enemy
using every trick he knew, even dropping mines when The Children of
Spirit pursued them, but in the night they withdrew.
16 On shore things were hard. Again there were great numbers of Epons
as well as Oneness, but Bold Fox was beginning to know their plans of
battle, and that was a
