While this was going on, The Voice slipped to the girl, knelt down, thrust the two stones into her mouth, and made her swallow.
The creature gave a horrible roar, shook off the last of the demons, reached out and struck The Voice hard, in the face.
The Priest rushed in, but a great hand caught him, too, and he fell back, bloody.  Both men retreated, as the thing reached for the girl.  But as he tried to touch her, lightning jumped from her body and drove it back.
The Voice looked to the east and saw light on the very tips of the mountaintops.  He rose, took the large stone from his pocket, and The Priest followed his lead.
"Fool!" the thing screamed, "I only have to wait!  Your sun stones will pass, in time, and she will be mine again!"
"It has no more time," answered The Voice, wiping the blood from his nose with his sleeve.  He sat his stone to the circle, and touched his staff to it.
"It is time," added The Priest, doing likewise, "for it to die!"
The circle lit up bright, and jumped into the sky like a huge pillar of light. "Fool!" the thing roared, "I simply have to fly above it and return at my pleasure!"
"That,"cried The Voice, "is precisely what we want!  It will fly now. It will flee from the one thing it fears the most."  He dropped his staff, and drew from his robe the mirror.  "Oh, Holy Lords," he cried, "I call upon your Light of Truth!"
The Priest of The One did the same. "Oh, one true god," he prayed "bring forth your light of glory!"
"Let it look!" cried The Voice, "Let it see what it really is!  Let it look into the glass.  Let it look upon its might.  Let it look upon its glory!"
The thing began to scream, backing away from them more and more. "No!" it cried, "No!  Keep those horrid things away from me!  No!  Keep those cursed things away from me!"
Suddenly it leapt into the air, climbing higher and higher. Suddenly it cleared the shadow of the mountains and came into the full light of the rising sun.
The Voice reached out with his foot and broke the circle.  In the sky the creature screamed, burst into flames, and exploded.
Millions of sparks fell towards the ground, but all burned out before they reached it. The Voice walked to The Priest.  They smiled at each other, then both men fell to the ground, their strength gone. The girl crawled over to them, and snuggled between them.  Putting an arm on each she went to sleep.
Those in the outer circle waited until full light, then a group of the bravest men came in.  As they approached, the girl looked up.  "I'm free!" she cried, "It's gone!  They burned it in the sky!  It's gone!"
"We know," one of the Voice's men answered, "we saw!"  They picked up The Voice, The Priest, and carried them to the village.
