50 "Listen, fella," the man suggested, "you're making a big mistake! There's plenty here and we can be long gone before anybody knows."
51 Bullet looked in the vault. It was FULL of money, far more than this operation could have made, and there were also, computer tapes and ledger books. "A Hood bank!" he whispered, half to himself.
52 "Yes," the man agreed, "and you know what they'll do to you if you touch it. You'll be a walking dead man. Be smart. Let us get out of here. You'll be rich ...filthy rich! Buy anything you want!"
53 Bullet turned the barrel of the rifle towards him. "Look," the man stuttered, "I confess to everything! I'll tell you anything you want to know. Don't kill me, please don't!"
54 "Oh, shut up!" the woman screamed, "Die like a man, you sniveling worm!" The man suddenly grabbed her, shoved her into Bullet, and ran for the door, into another room. The machine rifle cut him down in the doorway. The woman lay on the floor where Bullet had thrown her. "I don't suppose it will do any good for me to confess, either," the woman asked.
55 "Do you know what went on downstairs?" Bullet asked. The woman nodded. "Then give me one good reason you should live."
56 "I'm very beautiful," the woman suggested, "I could keep you and your friends happy."
57 "I don't think your kind," Bullet answered, "would interest them at all. I know you don't interest me."
58 "That's a pity," the woman sighed, as she watched Bullet lower the rifle and take out his pistol. She sat up on her knees. "A bullet makes such an awful mess," she said, "but I suppose it's quick."
