You're trying to trick me! I'm going into the
Light. I'm going to find my God!" He ran passed them into the Light and
they all ran after him. Suddenly, as they came into the Light, and
could see that it was the world in the distance, several people
appeared before the man and he stopped with a sudden scream. The kindly
Speaker rushed forward, but it was too late.
131 The man gave a horrid scream and seemed to burst into flames.
Suddenly he blew apart; millions of tiny sparks flying off in all directions. The kindly
Speaker bowed his head. "Couldn't reach him," he sighed. "If we could
have just started the chain, maybe we could have saved him. But he's
gone."
132 "Well, that's the only one we've lost in months," comforted the
young man.
133 "We don't LIKE to lose any," answered the kindly Speaker. "I've got
other work." He turned around, looking at Bullet, and the young woman.
"Come with me, something I want to show you."
134 They followed him and came to a woman lying on the ground. She
didn't have many scars, but she lay with her hands between her legs,
crying. Bullet could see blood on the robe she was wearing. He suddenly
recognized who she was. He saw a young girl sitting on a rock by her.
"Is she any better?" asked the Speaker.
135 "No," the girl sighed, smiling back at him, "but we've been
talking. She still doesn't understand what she did was wrong. She
doesn't know why she hurts."
136 The woman opened her eyes. "You're still there, my precious dream,"
she wept, "how beautiful you are!" She reached up to touch the girl but
there was a sudden flash and the woman drew back her hand, crying.
