146 "Will she end up like the other one?" Bullet's companion asked.
147 The kindly Speaker shook his head. "No, he answered, "in a while
she'll accept the forgiveness she's being given, and truly repent what
she has done. Then she can slowly come into the Light. A little at a time she'll bear
the pain, start working for those she abused. She'll get burned a few more times, but eventually
she'll learn to direct her affection towards men, and by the time she's
born again, she'll be healthy. It will take time, but here, we have
ages."
148 "Why did we see this?" Bullet asked.
149 The kind Speaker shrugged. "The gate was open," he answered , "who
opened it, we don't know. You will have to find your own reason.
Good-bye."
150 Bullet found himself waking up in bed. The woman beside him was
waking too, crying and holding onto him. "Please, please! Don't let Them
send me there! I'll be good! I'll do anything you ask! Don't make me be
like that. HE thought he was safe. He made all his confessions, made sure none of our people went downstairs,
only yours. He laughed at the Darkness, said he was safe! Don't let
them send me there! Don't let me die forever!"
151 "Listen to me," insisted Bullet, "no one but you, yourself, can
keep you from going there. Nobody sends you, nobody keeps you
out." He turned on the light and picked up The Sacred Writings. "It's
all here, everything you need to know. If you read it, and do what it
says, you'll never know the Darkness.
152 You have to admit the mistakes you made before, and go on from
there, doing good for the rest of your life, and, being ready to pay
