25 "This city lives in shame," he cried, "sickness walks in streets.

26 Suddenly several men in the front row rose and started throwing
rotten fruit. "Bastard!" they cried, "Whore! Leave us alone!" The fruit
splattered all over the podium and hit those behind him, but none
struck The Young Speaker.
27 The crowd angrily seized the men and started to strike them, but The
Young Speaker cried for them to stop. He walked to the edge of the
stage. "For that that you have done," he cried, "I forgive you.
Take them out, but do it gently. Let them go their way and do
not bruise them."
28 The men were quietly taken out, and Bullet remembered what he had
been reading a short time before. In one of the verses. 'And they shall
try to shame the Servant Of The Lords, throwing all kinds of foul
things at him. But within him is Their Purity, Their Love and Truth,
and they shall soil him not. And he shall say unto them, 'I forgive
you. Go from me in peace. Let not even your hand that has tried to
offend me be bruised.'' "Is this my Destiny?" he thought, "Is this why
I am here; to bear witness that these things have come to pass?"
29 Then, he remembered another verse, and that one brought him pain.
