But the rest of the vehicles reached the house and the men poured out.  They came immediately under heavy fire, but in minutes they had suppressed all resistance.  They came into the house's cellar, blew a hole through a wall, threw a charge down an elevator shaft, and blew another hole, then descending on ropes they entered a deep bunker.
A man sat at a desk in one room before a camera.  He seemed unconcerned as The Republics' soldiers entered.  "Mr. President," Warlock Renfield remarked, "I do not believe you will be delivering the speech you intended to deliver.  You are our prisoner!  You will send an immediate order for all your troops to lay down their arms.  If you do so you will be treated most honorably, and when we have finished our mission may go your way.  If you do not you will be most likely tried for crimes against humanity and executed.  The choice, sir, is yours!  We are willing to forgive the dead we have suffered so far, but I guarantee you, sir, we will not tolerate one life lost after the next fifteen minutes.  That is all the time you have!"

The President of Mozambique smiled.  "Such a tenacious people!"  he remarked.  "I could easily destroy us all, Warlock, isn't that what they call all of you?  It is so confusing to me!  How do you tell each other apart?  But I believe for the sake of my country, it is best I live.  So I am taking my hand off the button that would make this bunker our tomb.  If you will be so kind as to press the red button on that camera I will tell my people to lay down their arms.  I'm afraid my technician ran away when he heard you blow your way into the bunker!  Did you ever think of using the elevator?  Oh, you would've probably thought that was booby-trapped!  Probably it was!"
The President pointed to the camera.  The Warlock pointed to one of his men who quickly examined it and nodded.  "Well, press the button!"  he snapped.  The fighting person did so and The President began to speak.
"Beloved people of Mozambique, I was to announce this evening, that our brave military forces were to seize what had been stolen from us by those who created the great economic crisis that crippled the world and then took advantage of those who were unprepared.  But the unholy forces of those nations have violated the sanctity of our borders and have taken me captive.  I am sure they have committed other atrocities against our brave defenders and are now approaching our cities.  I must trust to their good will.  They have said that if we cease resisting I, or none, of my people will be harmed.  I order all our troops to return to their bases!  Stay in your barracks!  Do not resist.  I am sure I will be instructed to tell our police to maintain order, and to see to the safety of all Republic citizens and, their property.  I order them to do so.  I will not speak to you again until the infidels are out of our country.  At present I do not rule you, they do.  But I assure you; this dishonor will be avenged!  For now obey the unholy in our midst and know full well the hour of their destruction will come!"
The President pointed to the camera and the fighting person shut it off.  "Was that sufficient?"  The President asked.
     "Quite!"  the Warlock answered.
The President stared at the young fighting person.  "My God!" he remarked, "Is that a young woman?  You would bring a young woman on a mission like this?  The circles on your shoulder are black.  This young woman is a death soldier?  What kind of people are you?"
Before the Warlock could answer the fighting person did.  "A young woman who is dying from the disease that people like you put into the world, but who as long as she has breath will fight against people like you!  If I have to die I will die fighting for my people to the best of my ability!"
The Warlock smiled.  "Good answer!" he commented.
The President shrugged.  "I wish we were not enemies, Warlock," he continued.  "I would like to know you better.  But would you be so kind as to tell me how in the hell you found me?  We took every possible precaution!  As far as you know, I'm broadcasting from the capitol!  I've got a thousand of these bunkers!  How did you know which one I would be in?"
