"Wait on the dock," he ordered. "The ferry comes every hour. You'll be greeted on the Academy dock." He took an envelope from his pocket. "Here's your papers. Good luck!"
Samuel carried his belongings down to the dock. He asked the old man at the window if he needed a ticket.
"Reporting cadet?" the old man asked.
"Yes!" Samuel answered.
"Don't need no ticket, son. Ferry's for Academy people."
"Would you watch my things?" Samuel asked.
"You just leave them right there!" the man answered. "Nobody's gonna bother them!"
All the riding had made Samuel stiff, so he went up into the park to stretch his legs.
