Samuel backhanded the man so hard he backed off spitting teeth. "Shut up!" Samuel screamed, "or you'll end up like him. Shut up! Not one more word or I'll kill you here and now!"
The man looked at him with pure rage. "NOT ONE WORD!" Samuel screamed. The young officer rushed in. "The house is secure sir!" he snapped, "Only women up there."
"Get blankets," Samuel screamed, grabbing the keys from the wall. "Get these girls up to the house. Let them use the showers and tubs to get clean. Keep THAT trash out of my sight, or they'll never get to trial!"
He began unlocking the prisoners. He came to one Chinese girl who was very pretty and didn't have a mark on her. In answer to his unspoken question she explained "They do the regular stuff to us first, make us watch while they do the other stuff to the girls that have been here longer, letting us know that sooner or later we'd get our turns in the chair. I am in your debt. The one you killed was the one that bought me, that brought me here."
"Don't worry about it!" Samuel answered. "We'll take care of you. We'll have to keep you as a witness until this is all settled. Then you can go wherever you want to go."
"I'm Suzie," the girl continued, "and I don't want to go anywhere. I've got nowhere to go! When my parents died my uncle sold me to him, probably having a pretty good idea what he had in mind. I'm NOT going back to him! He'll just find another buyer."
"Not if we get ahold of him!" Samuel answered.
For the next few weeks everything was pure hell! The government was total chaos and nearly collapsed. There were many more arrests as far away as Europe and The United States, but the majority realized they had a good president, and he was not responsible for the actions of his derranged associates. Things settled down.
Suzie continued to live at Samuel's house, while he insisted she complete her education. She made it clear she intended to be Samuel's next wife and that caused a problem.
