"It must be now!" Captain Saul put in.
The remaining Captain nodded. Joseph rose, went outside, and came back in dragging a man in handcuffs, shackles, who he threw on the floor. "I caught some smugglers," he explained, "one of them offered some information in exchange for leniency. It seems there were four Chadeans working the smuggling pretending to be Kenyans. One of them kept boasting how they had planted mines in the capitol and attacked the Spir leader when he had arrived.
After we seized them he claimed he only said these things to impress his associates. But I do not think this is so. I think he lies. Your interrogators are much better at getting the truth than we are. So I have brought him to you. His associates should return shortly. They do not know we have taken this one, and we should be able to seize them, hopefully alive! I wish to see them squirm as they await the chopper's blade!"
Samuel rose and came around the desk. "If you'll excuse me, gentlemen," he remarked, "I'd like to have a few words with this individual."
The four officers rose and quickly departed. Samuel stood over the man who now cowered on the floor. The rage inside him rose, and he fought desperately, to control it."
