As the soldiers began to sing again the whole crowd picked it up, and the song soon drifted over the entire city. As the American and the British came by their bands played stirring music, too, but nothing would move Samuel's heart more than the words of that simple song for him.
After the ceremonies were concluded Samuel invited the leaders of the different forces to his base, supposedly for a simple meal. As soon as they were all seated Samuel had Kalina brought in and her companions.
"Gentlemen," he began, "you must be briefed on a situation. I could in no way, make you understand it as well as this young woman can, so I will let her tell her story the way she told it to me."
He let the young woman tell her tale, then continued "Gentlemen, we must plan this operation with the utmost of secrecy. ONLY those on this run must know what our real objective is, until we strike. The enemy MUST NOT become aware that we are in possession of this information. HE MUST NOT know we are coming until we are breaking down his door!"
"And by God, he won't!" General Pershing, the American general snapped. "May we have your plans of operation, sir?"
