One of the other members rose. "Does anybody remember what those people in Crawford did when the county took the road?"
"Yeah," Dinsmore said. "They blew it up, destroyed all the work they'd put into it. The county had to rebuild the whole thing! But I don't think we're going to get THAT kind of trouble here. The next county board meeting's in two weeks, the mid month's session. We'll present the petitions then, and ask them to make a decision at the end of the month's session. The restraining order will still be in effect until them.
Start calling all your friends. Let the county commissioners know that if they don't back us there's gonna be trouble, BIG trouble!"
The meeting broke up. When he got home he heard about the sheriff's troubles. "These people are crazy!" he remarked. "It's gonna be easy dealing with them. They're turning the county officials against them. They'll be on our side!"
He decided to get to bed. He'd get up early and make a list of people for his wife to call. They had to mobilize. If it was a fight these people wanted, it was a fight they'd get!
