The sheriff stared at the car rapidly making its way down the road. "Oh my God!" he muttered. "I never told ANYONE about that! How could they have known?"
His wife came up, took his arm, read the sentiments and smiled. "I don't think I've ever properly thanked mama and daddy for that one. I've got to remember to get around to it."
She smiled broadly and the sheriff looked to where the car had disappeared. "Oh, my God!" he muttered again, "Oh, my holy God!"
