Back after a busy weekend, working on my Kindle book project and getting a chance to relax for a change. However the news just keeps happening so here’s my latest updates.
On another personal note, I was shocked recently to learn that one of my favorite actresses, Linda Hunt, of “NCIS: LA” fame, is a lesbian. She is even “married” to her partner of thirty years. Now most of you know my feelings on that topic. However I want to say here that this person is a fine example of what Gerald and I have been teaching for years concerning gay people. She is of course, very famous, however unlike Ellen DeGeneres and Elton John is not out there constantly promoting the fact she is gay, giving young people the false idea it’s o.k. and others should do the same. Of course I’m not praising her for her as they say, “lifestyle choice.” I’m just saying it’s great that she can be a very talented individual well known to the public without constantly making fans aware of it. Thus, she has a chance of doing better when she leaves this world for the next than other famous gay celebrities. Of course I don’t have to stop enjoying this person’s superb work on television. But it’s good to know this very talented, interesting lady’s soul has a chance to go on. I wish others of said persuasion would do likewise.
What a weekend! The Indy 500 and The Oscars on the same day! I felt bad Danica Patrick didn’t win the race, but she was great anyway. That was fantastic that she was able to get the position she had and she did very well indeed. She was in eighth place. Maybe next time!
Congratulations to the people who made the movie “Argo” which won the Oscar for movie of the year Sunday night. I’ve heard it’s excellent. I will see it when I get the chance and the other films that were nominated. I was disappointed the youngest girl ever nominated for Best Actress, Quvenzhané Wallis, for “Beasts Of The Southern Wild,” who is 9 didn’t win anything. She lost to Jennifer Lawrence. I just learned something interesting. Quvenzhané will be starring in a remake of the movie “Annie” to be produced by Will Smith. I think it’s a great idea to have Annie be played by an actress of color for a change. Lastly on the subject, my comment is why did they have Mrs. Obama announce the winner for Best Picture from The White House?
I see The Pope is making history again, by changing the date of the conclave in which his successor will be elected. The Catholic Church wants to make sure they have another Pope before Easter weekend. I guess nothing like planning ahead.
Guilty! Guilty! Guilty! Cardinal Keith O’Brien, Britain’s highest ranking Catholic leader, has resigned as archbishop of St. Andrews and Edinburgh after he got misconduct allegations and won’t be going to the conclave to replace Pope Benedict. He doesn’t want to take the media attention away from that important event. He is 75 which is the normal retirement age for a cardinal. He says he’s in poor health. However never has one stayed away from a conclave because of a misconduct charge! He will step down on March 17th. In my opinion this proves his guilt of the charges. We’ll have to see what happens next.
A twenty-eight year old police officer is in court because his wife overheard him planning to kidnap, kill and eat dozens of women. Needless to say his wife fled their home in September, 2,012. Defense claims she wasn’t one of the planned victims. Glad she got to heck out of there! Apparently her husband belongs to some fetish web site. He claims these plans were just part of a fantasy dreamed up for this social media web site. Things are getting crazier and crazier out there! I hope he wasn’t actually going to do these things. Will have to keep an eye on this case.
In Germany now there’s a two faced camel whose nose looks like The Grinch’s face, according to The Huffington Post! I saw the comparison pics. It’s true! I’m kind of scared to consider what’s next!
