Back again to keep up with what’s going on in the news. One of God’s favorite sons, Speaker John Boehner is standing with Him again, boldly sayng that Obama is trying to “annihilate” the GOP. Obama can’t do what he wants as long as the House is controlled by Republicans. He had an excellent description of Obama’s plans. The broader goal of his administration is to “just shove us into the dustpan of history.” Don’t worry Mr. Speaker, God is on your side and will do everything He can to make sure that doesn’t happen!
Speaking of God The Father, He has had another victory in His quest for equal rights for women! Leon Panetta and The Pentagon have removed a ban from women serving in front line combat positions. Any service personnel who don’t like this and think some positions should remain closed to women have until 2016 to protest. From 1994 until now the Pentagon has said women can’t be assigned to ground units below a brigade level, which is about 3,500 troops that are split into battalions of about 800 soldiers each. In history brigades were placed further from the front lines because they usually contained top command staff and support personnel. Women have been serving in battalions as medical personnel, military police and intelligence officers. They could fly helicopters on medical missions. Now we’ll show ’em! Watch out Al Quaida! Something tells me from now on there’s going to be some extra heavy duty butt kickin’!
Finally! Hillary Clinton is testifying to congress concerning the assault on the diplomatic mission to Libya and the killing of ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans. They say it will probably be her last appearance on Capitol Hill as America’s top diplomat. She took full responsibility for the mistakes that were made which led to the assault. I cringe when I think though she won’t be the Secretary Of State any more, it probably won’t be the last we’ve seen of her in a government related position. I say good-bye, good riddance! Don’t come back and don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
Everybody is going crazy wondering if Beyoncé lip synced The National Anthem at the Inauguration. Apparently she did. She had a recorded version made ahead in case of equipment failure, freezing temps or such. Photographs show she didn’t have her earpiece in and the band wasn’t playing. The band won’t comment. It’s said she didn’t have a chance to rehearse with the band so decided to do the song this way. I say so what? It was her singing though it wasn’t happening live at that moment. It’s the artist’s choice. I’m sure Obama didn’t mind at all. They say Whitney Houston did the same in 1991. Anyway with all going on in the world who really cares?
Congratulations to our old friend Jimmy Kimmel who will soon be getting his star on The Hollywood Walk Of Fame! Wish I could be there. It was so cool walking around in Hollywood those times we went to be on the show. Almost everywhere we walked I saw the names of stars we knew in The Afterlife!
Congratulations to Adele who will sing the theme to the James Bond movie “Skyfall” at the Oscars! I will be watching.
