Here at last! News has been so slow lately there’s been nothing good enough for me to comment on. Let’s see what happens today.
First of all I wish so much this hadn’t happened. In Colorado ten year old Jessica Ridgeway’s body has been found. She was abducted on her way to meet friends and walk to school with them Friday, October 5th, when someone kidnapped her, then killed her and did terrible stuff to her body. The FBI is investigating. Her water bottle with her name on it and backpack were found last Sunday in a town six miles away from where she was last seen. Then they found her. They have a suspect they’re checking on. There is no need of things like this! Something has to be done to protect our children. Like my husband Gerald said they are our future and must be protected at all costs.
So sad to hear that the fourteen year old girl in Pakistan who stood up to The Taliban concerning education for girls is still in the hospital after she was wounded by a Taliban member who stopped her school bus last week looking for her. She is on a ventilator and in stable condition, being kept sedated according to CBS News. There are no plans to send her to another country for specialized treatment. It sounded like she hasn’t woken up. They say soldiers are guarding her. I pray she recovers and is all right, but right now things don’t look good as far as I’m concerned. Once again I hope I’m wrong. God surely is taking care of one of His favorite daughters whatever happens. Almost all the religious leaders in Pakistan are praying for her, and one even put out a statement saying they support education for women who want it, a major step for them.
It’s scary to hear someone in Iran is sending out a computer virus to big oil companies and such in their area, also big money web sites elsewhere. It’s very destructive. So far it hasn’t shut down any oil companies. The U.S. says it’s prepared to fight back. I’m sure glad I have Norton’s Internet Security! As far as I’m concerned it’s the best computer protection out there. However from the sound of this thing the virus may even be too much for it!
An Al Quaida leader is calling for more protests of the film mocking The Prophet Muhammed to take place outside American embassies. I’m sure he doesn’t mean them to be peaceful ones. I hope if this is the case his followers don’t listen.
Romney keeps getting in trouble with no help from The Afterlife. Now he’s accused of plagiarism for using a motto during his campaign from the “Friday Night Lights” t.v. show, “Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can’t Lose.” The creator of this show says that Romney’s campaign “clearly is not aligned with the themes portrayed in his series. It’s beginning to sound like all the candidates know how to do is steal other people’s material!
It’s true it’s not right to tease somebody sometimes but what happened in Warrensville Heights, Ohio is definitely wrong! A sixteen year old girl, Shaakira Dorsey, is dead, killed by another teenage girl who beat her up after she teased her because, excuse the expression, she farted. There is no excuse for this. I can understand why someone might be offended, but there was just no need of extreme violence. Apparently the victim was hanging out with other kids, talking at the end of a driveway. Another shocking thing is according to 911 calls, there were adults jsut watching the fight! The damage was done when the offended party punched the victim several times in the face. Her grandfather broke up the altercation then she collapsed and later died at the hospital. This is just ridiculous! Get some common sense, people! Condolences to the young lady’s family and friends.
Holy cow! Here in Kennebunk, Maine a Zumba Fitness dance instructor has been accused of running a prostitution business out of her Zumba dance studio and secretly taping her encounters. She has had 100 alleged johns. The town is in suspense waiting for the revelation of which among their friends and neighbors have been her customers! You never know what’s going to happen, even in your own back yard, so to speak. I own the Zumba Fitness DVDs. I of course, would never even consider being a prostitute! However I do have to get back at the workout. I don’t do the exercises when I do a lot of walking. I get leg cramps even with the stretches. But it’s good stuff!
