Happy New Year! I had a good time New Years Eve watching the Times Square Earth Cam show and also I had the ABC show on. I loved the way on the cam they had a guy singing John Lennon’s “Imagine” on stage just before the ball dropped. Needless to say I didn’t stay up much longer than that. New Year’s Day I finally finished editing the next Book in Our History “The Book Of The Voice”! I will be copyrighting this and putting it on our web site as soon as possible. This is one of the things my late husband Gerald wanted done the most because it’s one of the most important Books in the series. I hope he will be happy with my efforts. Then I will get started on typing Book 5 into the computer. Also I still plan to fit in getting the back issues of Voices From Spirit Magazine on line. I’ve really got my Work cut out for me but I most certainly don’t mind! This is what I’m here for. Now on to the news.
Finally the Republicans and Democrats, House and Senate, have agreed on a plan to avoid the fiscal cliff which I’ve heard we actually went over for a short time before this was done. I feel bad for Speaker Boehner not being able to come up with a viable plan. All I can say is people who are critical of his efforts should try to do something like this themselves. It’s an almost impossible task. God praises him for his efforts. Speaker Boehner is up for reelection as Speaker Of The House Thursday. Let’s pray he keeps his post. God will be very angry if he doesn’t. I see Donald Trump is now telling off the Republicans because he doesn’t think they got anything out of the deal. I say they did the best they could. Let’s leave it at that.
I see Hillary Clinton has left the hospital. She has a blood clot behind her ear that fortunately hasn’t caused a stroke and is on blood thinners. Though it’s no secret I don’t like her, I wouldn’t want her to have that. One of my friends on the internet asked me why I don’t like her. There’s just too many reasons to explain. You’d have to read the back issues of Voices From Spirit Magazine to find out from when Bill got in office. I still have to get most issues from 1993 online, but here is what I do have. The Al Jazeera America. Arab news TV Network, which has won several awards formerly a different station known as Current TV founded by former vice president Al Gore is not going to be carried by Time Warner Cable. Current TV’s co founder says Time Warner Cable didnt consent to the sale to Al Jazeera. They had dropped Current t.v. just hours before it became the Arab network, due to low ratings. Time Warner announced it does have a deal with the Arab network to broadcast it in the future. However now Current TV is canceled. Some cable companies are refusing to feature the channel, fearing they may show anti-American programming. Some are calling Time Warner Cable cowards for doing what they did. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens with this.
So discouraging to see Speaker Boehner is in trouble again, this time for not voting on hurricane Sandy relief funds Tuesday. He reportedly said it was because of a scheduling problem. He now promises to vote on it Friday. Hey, they can only do so much. This fiscal cliff fiasco has got everyone off schedule.
Congratulations to our troops as a U.S. drone strike in Pakistan has killed a senior Taliban commander who had fought American forces in Afghanistan but ended up having a truce with the Pakistani military. The house he was in was near the Afghanistan border. Pakistanis complain that these strikes claim too many civilian lives. Unfortunately it’s almost impossible to avoid civilians in these strikes, as at times the main person targeted uses them as human shields. I’m glad another soul of ultimate evil is gone from the world.
Scary that even India is having weather problems. There were historically cold temperatures there this week, and over 114 people many of them homeless, died in the streets and parks in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The temperature got to be 18 degrees below normal. The high in New Dheli that is on the border of Uttar Pradesh got to 49.6 F. These temps are the lowest there since 1969.
What the hell? There’s been gun violence even in Switzerland now, where a man armed with a military rifle and handgun has shot and killed three women and wounded two men in a small village. He then threatened to shoot police officers, who then shot him. Needless to say he was arrested. His motive is still unclear but he did know some of the people he shot. The guns were once standard issue and probably purchased at a military surplus market. I’m surprised the shooter didn’t kill himself like all the rest. I’m glad he’s under arrest however.
Last but not least, a 40 year old woman in Georgia is claiming mischievous ghosts stole her resume and a blue blouse. She says her mother’s ghost visits her from time to time but there are “black” ghosts that show up too. She knows her mother wouldn’t steal these things. She didn’t make it clear rather the spirits are African American or demonistic in nature. Her husband found a copy of her resume on her computer, but there’s been no trace of the blouse. This resume told of her criminal activity and her terminated parole She valued her resume at $5,000. She didn’t really understand how to handle these situations. Her husband had no idea about the blouse or that she’d filed a police report. He reported she suffers from a bi polar disorder. When it comes to ghosts with things the way they are nowadays sometimes people just don’t know who to call.
