       "Then I'm an awful fool," North put in, "because there's alot of people that are going to pay a heavy price for what was done to my father."

       "It is one thing," Morn told him, "to remember a debt, than to hate. I never want to feel like that again, it's not good, North and it's not what my mother taught me. She wouldn't have approved."

       North nodded. "There's an awful lot of her in you, Morn, and I don't think anyone could do any better, but we'd better get some sleep. We've got tests tomorrow, and the Commandant won't accept any excuses!"

       Both men laughed, and headed for their rooms. Four days later three Guard officers were publicly executed for failure to carry out their duty. The Guard got very much more efficient after that!
