It\u2019s hard to believe we\u2019re back here already with the last blog post of the year!\u00a0 Seems like the days just flew by!\u00a0 I don\u2019t have much to write about this time but wanted to get my two cents in so to speak for the end of the year.<\/p>\n
We\u2019ve heard about this possibility for years now it appears that next year it\u2019s actually happening in several states.\u00a0 People who use food stamps will no longer be able to buy soda, candy or energy drinks with them. I guess these states will be able to ask for a waiver so residents \u00a0using food stamps can get the banned items worry free.\u00a0\u00a0 The article I read also stated many people are applying for a waiver.\u00a0 I hoped the new rules about this would never happen\u00a0 but just as I started to relax.\u00a0 It\u2019s true that those in charge of the SNAP program are just trying to help us stay healthy but I personally think this is too much.\u00a0 I hope something happens that they\u2019ll change their minds and their suggestions won\u2019t go through.<\/p>\n
Also I read about people who do not like and or support President Trump are cancelling their events at the former Kennedy Center because President Trump changed it\u2019s name to The Trump-Kennedy Center For The Performing Arts.\u00a0 However apparently an official board voted on renaming the building.\u00a0 It\u2019s up to the people of course what they do but my opinion is I think it\u2019s kind of childish to do something like that.\u00a0 But then again it will certainly make the board members who did this stand up and take notice.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Well whatever happens.\u00a0 But how unfortunate the performers planning events there will be losing out.\u00a0 I\u2019m sure some of them have cancelled their shows or whatever there too.\u00a0 \u00a0As usual we\u2019ll just have to see what happens.<\/p>\n
On the home front I had a good Christmas.\u00a0 It was a relaxing day with my friends here.\u00a0 I had a wonderful ham dinner at my friend\u2019s apartment, and a chance to visit with my other friend\/neighbor a while there too.\u00a0\u00a0 I received a lovely diamond painting from one of them featuring two humming birds and a flower to keep me occupied for some time. \u00a0\u00a0I also got a pair of Christmas socks and some chocolates from my friend down the hall.\u00a0 Also I got the most Christmas cards ever!\u00a0 I was able to get some last minute\u00a0 to give to everyone in the building.<\/p>\n
