An Open Letter From Speaker Gerald Polley

To The World

Well, we had to go to an extra message today as we came across something rather special and God wanted us to deal with it.
We've been asked what would we do if a nurse was fired because she refused to perform an abortion, to take part in the procedure for any reason?  Well, we strongly feel that a hospital could acquire the services of more than enough nurses that would be willing to assist a doctor in a necessary abortion, and that no nurse or, doctor, should be required to take part in an abortion if it is really against their principles.  We do not believe a doctor should be prohibited from doing an abortion, neither do we feel a doctor should be forced to do one.  This is something that is a matter of their own conscience.  If the doctor or nurse would rather let a patient die than perform an abortion, that is something that they're going to have to settle with the patient on Judgment Day.  As an abortion is not usually a damning offense, neither is not performing one, usually one.
We are a people of fairness. We do not believe in forcing our beliefs on others, we just believe in keeping people from forcing theirs on others.  As we say, there are plenty out there that are not bothered by the anti abortionist propaganda. They know an abortion does no harm, that a soul cannot be destroyed, if a child isn't born one place it will be born another and fulfill its destiny. All of the anti abortionists' teachings are blasphemy, direct denial of God's truths.  But for those that cannot accept that, we believe in fairness.   So if we found a nurse was fired because she refused to take part in an abortion, we would be taking all legal action possible to have her reinstated, and a state that did not support her reinstating might well lose federal support.  Just can't have it!
Some people say you can't have it both ways.  You can't support abortion and say nurses and doctors can opt out. We don't say why there's a problem, just require that hospitals get the services of at least two doctors and four nurses that do not object to abortions, that understand God's truths. No great problem!  Now, if a hospital refused to have doctors that would perform abortions, that's another thing, altogether!  But we would support a nurse or doctor that refused to take part in an abortion and make sure that their jobs were not terminated because of it.  I hope this answers the question that this individual had.
We've been asked to mention Andy Rooney's doing fine in The Kingdom Of God. That's all he wants said.
