It is said in the January issue of VOICES that there are times when it
is appropriate to use violence against Homosexuals. One of the examples
given is, "If a homosexual approaches a man on the street and asks him for
sexual favors, the man would be justified in reacting in a violent manner."
While I understand what the writer was saying I have to disagree.
It would be appropriate, in the above scenario, to reply that you aren't interested
and then move on your way. If the Homosexual in question persisted,
then you are within your rights to contact the local authorities. It
isn't an option to physically assault anyone. This would leave you
open to possible legal problems.
Another example given is, "If a parent should find a homosexual committing
sexual acts on one of their children, a violent response might be appropriate."
To this I say first that it would depend on the age of the child. If
the child is at the age where sexual activity is acceptable, then it isn't
the parents' business. If it is a young child then legal action would
be the proper course.
I agree with the writer when they say that every person has the right to
speak against Homosexuality. We all are entitled to voice our opinions.
I disagree when the writer says that we have a responsibility to warn them
about personal harm. The only harm is the same as with any other sexual
act. We have a responsibility to caution our children on the practice
of safe sex, be that Heterosexual, or Homosexual.
Keep in mind that God loves all men regardless of their sexual orientation,
and that our only responsibility is to lead as honest and loving a life as
we can. This extends toward teaching our children to be accepting of
others.
The Rabbi Jesus, known as Christ, taught acceptance above all things.
He turned no one away, and helped many. It comes down to one thing.
"Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you." or maybe said
better with "Judge not, lest you yourself be judged."
We could do worse than to follow that example on this and many other issues.
Christ said "I go to prepare a place for you, and when the time is right
I will return for you, and take you unto it." What He meant was that
He would return for each of them when they died, and take them to their Reward,
which He faithfully did.
But the Jews entering into Christianity were still looking for the physical
resurrection of the dead. So to make more converts the evil priesthood
created The Book Of Revelation to give them their desire, and have created
the misconception that has led so many to The Second Death. Woe to
the folly of man, how those suffer who have led the innocent astray.
As long as one child is corrupted by the evil they did, they can never be
at peace. Such is their eternal punishment.
